Product Description

On a Scale of One to T-Rex is a family-friendly party game for people who are bad at charades. Players must perform ridiculous actions like "Be a T-Rex," "Scratch an Itch You Can't Reach," or "Be a Hula Dancer" on a scale of 1 to 10. The twist is that the quality of your action doesn't matter - you earn points by guessing and matching the intensity each player is performing their action. There are no turns in this fast-paced game, so in the midst of all the roaring, dancing, meowing, and yodeling, you must find someone on the same intensity level as you to earn points. The player with the most points wins.

From the manufacturer

On a Scale of One to T-Rex, party game

What Is This?

On a Scale of One to T-Rex is a game for people who are bad at charades brought to you by the creators of Exploding Kittens and The Mind.

How it Works

action cards, party game

intensity cards

perform actions, party game

win, the goal, game, cards

Action Cards!

Action cards are placed on the table. Actions are not a secret, everyone knows each other's actions.

Intensity Cards! Shhh, it’s a secret.

Everyone is given an Intensity Card, which tells them how intensely to perform their action on a scale of one to ten. These cards are secret!

Perform!

You will all perform your actions at the same time at the intensity level on your Intensity Card.

Win by matching intensity!

The goal is to figure out which players are performing on the same intensity level as you. If you compare Intensity Cards and they match, you get points!

Excellent for mixed age groups of extroverts. Loud and need space to play. Not a 2 player game.

Excellent for mixed age groups of extroverts. Loud and need space to play. Not a 2 player game.
This is a review for On A Scale from One to T-rex. All the reviews are mixed up on the page, which is not a good idea.TLDR: Excellent for mixed age groups of extroverts. Loud and need space to play.General. This game is loud and you need some space to play. So be aware. And you really need a larger group for it to be fun. Two player is just silly. Five is where it starts to be fun and it technically caps at eight. Kids really enjoy this game, no waiting for turns and a chance to be really active. When we needed a break we also asked the kids to make new action cards (gave them some yellow, green and red paper to write them on), in fact I think it should come with blank cards, or there should be a place online to print blank cards. (Oh, but be sure to check the kid made action cards before playing because grandma seeing what her twelve year old grandchild wrote on them might be awkward). This would also be an excellent game for groups of kids to get to know each other.Pros:If you have people who are willing to be silly it is great fun .Easy to learn to play. There is a six minute video online and watching it will help you learn the rules. I suggest watching it before buying as well so you know what you are getting.Excellent for a wide variety of ages. Even a three year old can play with a little help. Kids who can read can play without any help at all. Watching grandma pretend to be a T-rex is worth the cost of the game.Game pieces and cards are of decent quality. Better than the original Exploding Kitten ones. The fact that you can swap intensity cards means that it does play to those who want to really go all out or those who prefer to be more low key. We did have to limit this as the little kids always want to keep swapping until they get a 10 performance card and that defeats the purpose of guessing who is matching your intensity. No turns means kids do not get bored. The swap action card does keep it moving along. It is quick to play.Cons:Two player game is just silly. You need about 6 people for it to be fun, five is ok, less than that is just awkward. The introverts did not like this much. They tended to swap out until they got low intensity cards which made the game less fun as you could guess they had low cards. You quickly run out of tokens if you try to play with more people than listed.

Excellent quality from the exterior to the interior! Even the paper of the instruction manual is well-made. I just played the game with my family during circuit breaker and I must say it’s very entertaining to see my parents and sister act those actions out. We bonded over the game and loved every minute of it.

We even decided to change the rules of the game to make it more entertaining.
